Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 16, 2026

This policy explains what personal information FindMy.beauty collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service.

1. Who we are

FindMy.beauty is run by Lewis Morris Limited (company number 15019184), 7 Tobruk Lane, Marske-by-the-Sea, TS11 8FX. We are the controller of your personal information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For any privacy question or request, email hello@findmy.beauty.

2. What we collect

  • Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, profile picture (if you sign in with a provider such as Google) and whether your account is a Host or Renter account. Passwords and sign-in are handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. We never see your password.
  • Salon and listing information (Hosts). Your salon's name, description, address, postcode, map location, photos, website and social media usernames, and your listings' descriptions, prices and photos. This information is published on the Service so that Renters can find you.
  • Enquiries. When you contact a Host, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give one) and your message. If you are signed in, we link the enquiry to your account.
  • Saved listings and alerts (Renters). The listings you save and the areas and distances you set for email alerts.
  • Billing information (Hosts). Your subscription plan, its status and a record of your payments. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
  • Emails we send. A record of which service emails we have sent you, such as trial reminders, so we do not send duplicates.
  • Usage and device information. When you visit the site, we collect information such as pages viewed, links clicked, searches, errors, your browser and device type, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, and the page that referred you. See our Cookie Policy for details.
  • Messages to us. If you email us or use our contact form, we keep your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), the topic you chose, your message and our reply.

3. Why we use it and our lawful basis

  • To provide the Service, including running your account, publishing listings, passing enquiries to Hosts, sending alerts you have set up and managing subscriptions. Our lawful basis is contract: we need the information to provide what you have signed up for.
  • To send service emails, such as enquiry notifications, trial reminders and billing receipts. Our lawful basis is contract.
  • To understand and improve the Service, fix errors and keep it secure. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: we have an interest in running a reliable, secure service that people find useful, and we keep the information we use for this to a minimum.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse and enforce our Terms of Service. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
  • To keep financial records and comply with the law. Our lawful basis is legal obligation.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it to show you third-party advertising, and we do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal information with other users only where that is the point of the Service: salon profiles and listings are public, and enquiries are sent to the Host you contact.

We also use the following service providers ("processors") to run the Service. They may only use your information to provide their service to us:

  • Vercel: website hosting, image storage and privacy-friendly page view statistics.
  • Neon: our database, hosted in London.
  • Clerk: account sign-up, sign-in and session management.
  • Stripe: subscription payments, invoices and the billing portal.
  • Resend: sending email.
  • DataFast: website analytics, including which pages and sources lead to sign-ups and subscriptions, and which automated crawlers request our pages.
  • Mapbox: the maps shown on search and listing pages.
  • Google reCAPTCHA: checking that messages sent through our contact form come from a person, not an automated program. When you use the form, Google receives information about your browser, device and how you interact with the page. See Google's privacy policy.
  • OpenStreetMap Nominatim: turning postcodes and place names into map locations. We send it the location text, not your name or contact details.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or restructuring of our business. If our business is sold, we will tell you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers are based in, or use systems in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. When your information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected, for example through the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the International Data Transfer Addendum or other safeguards approved under UK law.

6. How long we keep it

  • We keep your account information, salon profile, listings, saved listings and alerts for as long as your account is open.
  • We keep enquiries so that both the sender and the Host can see their message history.
  • When you close your account, your sign-in is removed. If you ask us to delete your information, we will delete or anonymise it within one month, except for anything we must keep by law.
  • We keep payment records for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, because UK tax law requires it.
  • Analytics data is kept for as long as it is useful for understanding how the Service is used, and is then deleted or anonymised.
  • Our service providers may keep backups for a limited time after deletion.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information, including where we rely on legitimate interests;
  • ask for your information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent.

To make a request, email hello@findmy.beauty. We will reply within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first. You can also update most of your details yourself from your account, and you can turn off listing alerts using the unsubscribe link in any alert email.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

8. Security

All traffic to and from the Service is encrypted using HTTPS. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it to run the Service, and we use well-established providers for sign-in and payments so that we never handle passwords or card numbers ourselves. Location data is removed from photos when they are uploaded. No system is completely secure, but if we become aware of a data breach that affects you, we will tell you and the ICO where the law requires us to.

9. Children

The Service is for adults running or working in beauty businesses. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell you by email or through the Service.
